What sort of clothes should we wear?
As most of the portraits we produce show the modern day lifestyle, we find casual clothing is usually most appropriate. Click here to download some tips on what to wear for your session.
What about colours of clothing?
We would recommend that you choose a colour theme for the group, such as blues and greys or reds and browns – they will blend together and help to produce a great result.
Can I bring a change of clothes?
Certainly, if you are at all unsure, bring additional clothing, particularly for babies and young children, and we can advise you.
We do Karate, can we bring along our outfits?
Yes, no problem. We’ve had mini motor bikes in the Studio before now! Musical instruments are another popular addition, and make your images truly personal.
How will you get my dog or cat to sit still?
Having photographed people and animals for over 30 years, we have a few tricks up our sleeve to help with keeping your pet pooch still for long enough. Don’t worry!
Can we bring Granny too?
We love Grannys! After all, if Granny hadn’t been there in the first place, you wouldn’t be here now! So, yes, bring her along. The Session Fee has no limit to the number of people, so why not take the opportunity to get the whole family together. We'll photograph everyone together, and the various family groups, and any other combinations you'd like.
How many people can you fit in the studio?
We can comfortably fit 12 adults, plus children. And if there's a larger group, we can always split into smaller groups for the portraits, and then combine them in a multiple aperture frame. If you're coming as a large group, do let us know in advance, so that we can book off a longer session in the diary.
Can you come to our home instead?
It's possible to do a location sitting, but most people's homes aren't well suited to a portrait session due to space limitations. If you particularly don't want a studio session, perhaps consider an alternative location, such as the forest. We'll be pleased to discuss the possibilities.
How many photographs will you take?
We'll take a selection to give you a good choice.
How are your pictures different?
We make pictures that will capture the essence of your family – the fun, the laughter, the happy times that you will want to treasure forever.
I’d like some images in Black and White – is that possible?
That’s no problem. All photographs are taken in colour, so you can choose colour, black and white, sepia or special effects when you actually see them.
Can you get rid of my spots, double chin and wrinkles?
We can work miracles, but we usually suggest that we just soften wrinkles so that the character in your face is still retained. If you're concerned, mention it when you place your order, and we'll make a special note.
How will we see the images you have made?
We will make you an appointment to come back and view the images, usually about 7-10 days after the sitting, and we will display them on the wall to make selection easier. We can show you different layouts using single and multiple images, framed or unframed – we can also show you different sizes and finishes, but as always, the choice remains yours and there’s no pressure.
How do I pay for my order?
We require a deposit on placing your order, and then the balance on collection. We take cash, cheque, or all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastro, Electron, American Express etc).
You can also split the payments over 4 months interest free using own easy payment scheme, or we can arrange payments over a longer period through a reputable credit company if you wish.
I would like my friends and family to see the pictures, how can I show them?
Once you have placed your order, we will put them online for 10 weeks for your friends and family to view, and if they wish, to place their own order via our secure ordering facilities.
How long will it take for my order to be completed?
Depending on your order, the average time is between three and six weeks. Occasionally this will be longer, but conversely, we can rush your order through if essential.
I can see the directions on the contact page, but can I park nearby?
There is 1 hour parking on the road (resident's parking bays) immediately outside the shop and for longer stays we have a forecourt on which parking is unlimited.
